LAURALEMAITRE is a Ghent-based fashion brand by Laura Lemaitre herself.
Laura Lemaitre (32), born and living in Ghent, first studied Fine Arts at Luca School of Arts in her hometown, to finalize her studies at the Fashion Academy in Antwerp. After these years of experience she started a few small made to order capsule collections. Now she jumps into the world with a more simple and modular bag collection.
The idea for this collection started from Laura’s search for the perfect bag: “Before leaving the house, I always make sure to grab my “holy trinity”, my wallet, my phone and my keys. I found it so hard to find the right bag for this threesome. So I started designing a bag for every item and along the way there came more.
In a way this threesome became a red thread throughout the whole collection. At the end she designed three bigger bags and two smaller ones that are combinable in the modular system.
Besides the comfort of adjustable bags according to everyone's own needs, the basics, such as materials and where these are produced, is of big importance. That is why Laura carefully chooses companies in Belgium to work with. Alongside that ‘Made in Belgium’ importance Laura chose for sustainable materials, a timeless design and small quantities. LAURALEMAITRE wants to create a playground for her customers, where they can make an almost unique piece that feels timeless and easily adjustable to your needs.
